

Deirdre Hall is Dr. Marlene Evans, one of soapdom’s most enduring characters, celebrates a milestone today. Hall marks 5000 episodes on the 56-year-old daytime champ Days of Our Lives. Evans, a psychiatrist, has been possessed, stalked, nearly killed – and done it all with grace. Hall’s remarkable 40-year career on the show is one for the books. It may be the only time in entertainment history that a daytime star reaches this pinnacle of hard work rewarded – this longevity.
