Sex with Sue, on W Network Oct.10 is a loving documentary and tribute to Canadian sex advice pioneer Sue Johanson, whose radio and TV shows helped instruct North America in the ways and means of sex. And not just the biological stuff. Sue taught us about the actual human realities, the feelings, techniques, problems, and joys – plus the toys – of sex. Johanson, a grandmotherly figure who never judged, was always practical and knew her stuff, helped Canadians throw off the shackles of conservatism and ignorance, first on radio, then on TV’s Sunday Night Sex Show which ran from 1996 to 2005, a fan favourite on late night American TV with Conan O’Brien and David Letterman, and her own series on Oprah’s Oxygen network. Sue’s daughter Jane Johanson and filmmaker Lisa Rideout produced this wonderful, loving, and ultra optimistic doc while Sue is still living to show a new generation the power of honest sexual dissertation. Johanson and Rideout spoke with What She Said’ Anne Brodie.
Sex with Sue premieres Monday, October 10 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on W Network and STACKTV.
